Contrail Solutions
The aviation industry is accelerating efforts to reduce aviation’s non-CO2 effects, including from nitrogen oxides (NOx), sulfur, aerosols, soot, and contrails. Among non-CO2 emissions, persistent contrails are estimated to have a warming impact. As the scientific understanding of the warming impact from contrails develops, SATAVIATM offers contrail management flight planning services for airlines, leveraging a unique atmospheric modeling capability to help predict contrail formation.
Technology Investment
Engineers and scientist from GE Aerospace’s Research Center evaluated thousands of pathways and technologies to identify the most promising technologies in the sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and carbon dioxide removal space. Using these insights, we make select investments in early venture-stage technology companies where we see the potential to instill our own technical capabilities to catalyze the investment.
